I am currently working on:

  • Study of the magnetic polarization of V in V/Cr(001) interfaces by means of Spin Polarized Scanning Tunneling Microscopy (SP-STM).
  • Study of magnetic polarization on polycrystalline Fe/V interfaces with enhanced roughness.
  • Study and modeling of magnetization reversal anomalies at the hard axis of different epitaxial systems.
  • Magneto-plasmonics: study and modeling of the influence of strong surface plasmon polariton (SPP) generated electromagnetic fields on the enhanced magneto-optical response of different systems, as Au/Co/Au trilayers, Au/Co gratings or Au/Co nanocomposite systems.

• Thin film epitaxial growth and nanoparticle fabrication by means of sputtering and laser ablation. UHV related technology.

• Structural characterization by means of reciprocal space techniques as Reflection High Energy Electron Diffraction (RHEED), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), X-Ray Reflectometry (XRR), with real space techniques as Scanning Tunneling Microscopy (STM) and Atomic Force Microscope (AFM) and with spectroscopic techniques as Auger Electron Spectroscopy (AES).

• Magnetic and Magneto-optical characterization of thin films and nanostructures by means of Kerr effect techniques and Magnetic Force Microscopy (MFM).

• Real-time Thermal Annealing (RTA) of L10 alloys.

• Optical and magneto-optical response simulations of different multilayer and nanostructured systems.
